Action popped a cap.
Barrel needs pinning to frame.
Hammer shortened.
Frame horns riveted with two each 3/16 inch rivets.
Frame horns are soldered first then riveted, makes drilling rivet holes easier.

The start of a Cherry wood stock.
It is mounted but needs a LOT of wood removal!
3 inch (7.62 cm) drop, 1/4 inch (6.35 mm) offset, 17-1/2 inch (44.45 cm) pull.
With a tethered half-cock block.
I have since added a brass bead for a front sight and a very small notched blade for a rear sight.
I will be shooting these: Thug-Slugs.
The stock will be further refined after the first time at the range. This will give me opportunity to see how it all works as it is currently constructed.

Trigger guard started, mild steel.
Not sure how to attach it and still remove stock mounting screw, such is life.

Trigger guard mounted.
One screw 6-32 US, one brass pin 3/32 inch, pin soldered to guard and fits into hole in frame.
Hammer pin was shortened a bit.
How it looks now.
I wanted the finger grip moved forward a bit, the reason for the trigger guard gap at the rear.
Hammer spur and soft-soldered rear sight. (Now MIA)

Removed the rear sight, blued the barrel.
Took it to the range and shot some of these slugs:

They make really big holes!
Used a 12ga bore mop and alcohol between shots to keep the bore clean.

Got to shoot this one today. 65 grains 777-FFg, 65 grains of #6 shot. At 25 yards it patterns solidly at about 18 inches wide. A sample of how the patterning looks, ignore the patches as this is a re-used target.

Decided to make some shot filled paper packets. Used brown paper bag material. Formed the packets over a tapered dowel then glued. Filled with 62gr of #6 shot and folded the top down not glued.. One or two full packets went through the target (not shown) and messed up the target frame. Started with 50 gr of FFg Goex, large pre-conditioned cushion wad then the packet. I still used a overshot card, nicked the edge to allow traped air out during ramming.
